Celebrating our Managing Director Ian Tresidder for his 30 years of service to Reliance Hexham!
Our Managing Director, Ian Tresidder has reached an incredible milestone this week celebrating 30 years of working at Reliance Hexham.
It today's world, reaching 30 years of continual service at a company is almost unheard of.
From a personal perspective of myself, Darren Grant,
I have had the pleasure to watch Ian transition from a 2nd year Blacksmith apprentice when we first met at BHP Newcastle 33 years ago to being the Managing Director today. We have shared many life milestones in-between this time together such as sporting achievements, weddings, holidays, children and recently for Ian, becoming a Poppy!
From a professional perspective,
30 years of experience is monumental in an industry! Specifically looking at shaft equipment, there is a significant lack of knowledge and experience that is located within Australia! Ian has worked hard to develop his skills throughout the years and is now providing the up and coming generations with his experience, knowledge and support to continue the quality of Reliance Hexham's work.
You would expect that 30 years of experience alone to place you into the expert category of our trade but Ian has a key distinguishing factor that separates him from others. Ian has a Blacksmith trade and engineering background which he then applied these skills to his role in sales and eventually his current position as Managing Director.
Looking further into the skills Ian obtained through his Blacksmithing trade, a strong knowledge of metallurgical fundamentals, heat treatment requirements and how grain flow and material grades perform. This key knowledge is needed to keep workers safe when travelling up and down a mine shaft anywhere up to 1km deep.
It is without a doubt that Ian has significantly contributed to the successful operation and development of Reliance Hexham throughout the last 30 years. We are so grateful that he is able to pass on his wealth of knowledge and experience to the younger generations and continues to push our team and company to its full potential.
